Class Objectives
Middle School Science
The year of middle school science is divided into three sections: life science, physical science, and earth science. Each grade level studies different topics that relate to these three sections of science. In order to study these topics, each class will have an opportunity to engage in discussions, laboratory activities, cooperative learning, projects, presentations, speeches, research, note taking, quizzes, tests, and other activities.

6th Grade science topics include the following:
- the scientific method review
- measurement, atoms, and simple machines
- cells, classification, kingdoms of life, and animal behavior
- rocks, minerals, and weather
- the scientific method review
- waves, states of matter, electricity, and magnetism
- cell processes, the human body,and dissection, ecosystems
- resources, oceans, and oceanography

- the scientific method review
- forces, motion, and chemistry
- genetics, plant processes and reproduction, and the environment
- space travel, volcanoes, earthquakes, and plate techtonics
Helpful Hints
How to be Successful in Middle School Science
- Always be organized and prepared for class.
- Have all assignments completed on time.
- Study ahead of time for quizzes and tests... don't cram the night before.
- Have a positive attitude and always put forth your best effort.
- Have a good sense of humor and have fun!
- Remembering Mrs. Schrader's favorite candies is recommended.
- Be kind to the environment!
